Pine Grove Park, a Wisconsin inn is a peaceful retreat located on an old farmstead dating back to approximately 1850. In early 1914, the farm was purchased by Mrs. Alvena Taylor, the young widow of Robert Taylor who was animal curator for the Ringling Bros. Circus. She built one of the area’s first man-made lakes known by the locals as "Taylor Lake". She added some cabins and converted a few of the old farm buildings into an ice house and changing houses, and also built a dance pavilion for recreation in the summer.
In 1928, Mrs. Taylor (Scott) died and the resort was eventually sold. Remnants of the old resort and lake can still be seen from the hiking trails. During the next 20 years this farm changed hands several times. The farmstead was purchased by Jean's grandparents in 1949 and then passed to her father several years later. Jean & Kurt bought it from her parents in 1987. The pond was added and over the next several years the wildflower prairies and gardens were developed. Since then, this historic bed and breakfast has become a treasure and haven to many of the guests who visit the Wisconsin Dells and surrounding areas.
